ADSL Plus and ADSL TwoPlus services are offered without a guaranteed specific speed result. We expect all ADSL Plus and ADSL TwoPlus services will exceed the 1500/256k data rate offered as the maximum rate on our ADSL Standard services.
Above that, the service is offered on the basis that the line speed achieved is offered on a best effort, no guarantees basis:
Your actual results will be somewhere in between 1500/256 kbps and these maximum speeds.
Like our Extreme ADSL2+ services, the speed is dependent on many factors including (but not limited to) the quality and length of the copper telephone line between your premises and your local telephone exchange.
We have a graph on this page, which may give you idea of the potential performance based on the length of your phone line. For ADSL Plus services, refer to the blue ADSL1 area; for ADSL TwoPlus services, the green ADSL2+ area is relevant - but with a maximum download speed of 20 Mbps.
Please note that the achieved 'sync speed' on variable speed ADSL services such as ADSL Plus and ADSL TwoPlus can vary over time. These services are extracting the maximum possible performance from your current telephone line and ADSL modem environment - this environment can change over time - hence, so can the sync speed.
These plans offer the highest speeds made available to us by our ADSL Plus and ADSL TwoPlus infrastructure provider, nationally - however we are not able to control the latency or performance of these plans directly. The latency on these plans is, in general, a little higher than that of a 1500/256k service (typically an additional 10-20 milliseconds).
However, like all Internode ADSL 'best effort speed' broadband services, there are a variety of approaches our customers can take to maximise the performance of their service.
The Internode support team is happy to assist customers who wish to optimise the speed of their Internode ADSL services with advice and assistance to achieve that aim.
In this circumstance, Telstra Wholesale have notified us that the speeds available may be limited to a maximum download speed of 3 Megabits per second in some (unspecified) locations, where insufficient backhaul capacity exists to support higher speeds at this time.
We regret that we are currently unable to determine in advance, which RIM connected customers may be subject to the 3 Mbps maximum download speed limitation.
If you already have an ADSL Standard or ADSL Plus service with Internode, you can request an upgrade to ADSL TwoPlus via our online plan changer - available by logging in to My Internode.
For most customers this should be a seamless process, with the speed increase occurring on your service rollover date. Even better, there's currently no once-off charge associated with this speed change - your speed upgrade is free! And you don't need to enter a new 24 month contract for your service - your remaining contract term (if any) is not affected.
As part of the plan change process, we will perform a service qualification test on your phone line. This is more accurate than our Coverage Checker tool, which simply checks your phone number against the capabilities of your local telephone exchange.
The service qualification that is performed when you log in to the online plan changer checks if ADSL TwoPlus is available on your specific line - this is particularly relevant if you are connected to a RIM, or to an exchange that has not yet been upgraded.
Some RIMs have been upgraded to support ADSL TwoPlus - and some have not. If the online plan changer is not offering you the choice of ADSL TwoPlus plans; then this unfortunately means that either your RIM or your telephone exchange has not yet been upgraded to ADSL TwoPlus, and hence the service is not currently available at your premises.
